Welcome to Food Design – The Inclusions Experts
We're Food Design and we make the very best sweet inclusions.  

Perhaps we should be called ‘The Damn Fine Toffee and Fudge Company’ because we make fantastic tasting fudge and toffee using tried and tested recipes and only the very best ingredients.  It's so good that our customers come back to us time and time again looking for new flavours and textures that add that little something extra to their products.  

Or perhaps we should be called The-Damn-Fine-Toffee-and-Fudge-and-Sauces-and-Coatings-Company as we also make other things from fabulous sweet sauces to chocolate coated centres.  But whilst it may have a certain ring, we’ll stick to Food Design.

Passion is key to everything here at Food Design. We work tirelessly to ensure our products exceed our customers requirements, delivering a perfect solution no matter how tough the brief. Whether it’s organic, fair trade, kosher, nut free, we make sure our products are produced without compromise. We cut the toffee when it’s made, not the corners on the way.

We make our toffee and fudge in much the same way you’d make it at home. We use the finest ingredients, and cooked in copper pans, with much of the mixing, pouring and breaking done by the skilled hands of our dedicated team. Harrogate is famous for its toffee, and ours travels the world in exports, as far as the USA and Middle East (we’re working on the bit in between…).

We’ll advise you how to get the perfect product performance and food values for your needs, based on our vast experience. Not sure how to keep the wonderful crumbly texture of a fudge when it freezes in ice cream? Or how to bake a muffin without melting the toffee? No problem, we’ve done it before

We work proactively – our ideas are shared with our customers – ideas that make new products great and existing products better and more profitable, We solve food manufacturing problems, and we do it quickly. If you’ve got a idea, a problem, a requirement that involves inclusions, talk to us – we’ve got the best minds in the business (some of them so old and wise, chances are they’ve done something similar before!)

At Food Design, we work with real pace. Our team is flexible; big enough to deal with the toughest deadlines, small enough to care. We build strong, trusting relationships with our clients, based on a deep, intuitive understanding of their business and requirements. We bring pace to NPD – our development team can produce samples quickly from our on-site, state of the art development kitchen, bespoke to your specific requirements.

The development team love a challenge, and once they’ve cracked the flavour and food values you need, we’ll transfer the process to factory tests seamlessly. We’ll understand your supply chain logistics to make sure the products reach retailer’s shelves and consumer’s tables in perfect condition. We’ll work to lower minimum order quantities than some of the ‘big boys’, and we’ll do it all at speed, to reduce your time to market.

What we don’t know about Toffee and Fudge...

...isn't worth knowing!
We’ve been working in the toffee and fudge industry for a long time. Our team is uniquely experienced, having spent many years (too many to count…) working across the category in all manner or roles. We’re a close knit team, united by a common purpose – to make the best toffee and fudge inclusions in the business.

Knowledge is everything. Just ask one of Europe's biggest bakery companies who needed to cut costs but not quality. Our extensive knowledge meant that we were able to re-engineer the recipe to reduce costs, yet leave the superb flavour uncompromised.

Our values are shared across the Zubrance group of companies – values that are important to us all: the passion, the pace, the energy – these are the things we look for in all of our team.  It’s what defines us, makes us different.

It's the way we are
Zubrance is more than a group of privately owned food companies.  It’s a collective purpose, synergy and vision dedicated to bringing value to customer relationships.  Passionate and expert Zubrance companies lead the way with the best people, products and processes.

There are currently three companies in the Group.  As well as Food Design, down in Dudley our sister company Quality Kernels, processes nuts, seeds and dried fruit.   And over in Elland, there's New Ivory famous for its chilled sauces. 

All of these businesses share the same ethos – the same Zubrance: a passion for quality, knowledge, pace and energy – not so much a ‘can do’ as an ‘already done’ attitude.
